Wireless Networking
Wireless networks are generally considered to be less secure than wired networks; however, with proper configuration and encryption enabled, they can provide more than adequate security for most users. Read our Accessing Wireless Networks Safely brochure or use the links below to learn about using wireless networking securely.
Wireless at RIT
RIT is currently transitioning to a more secure, WPA-encrypted network. To learn about using the wireless network at RIT and how to access the encrypted network, visit the ITS Wireless Computing at RIT page.
On-campus residents must read the Resnet guide for Using a Router/Wireless Router on the RIT Network. Due to the architecture of the residential network at RIT, improper connection or configuration can potentially disable the Internet connection of your room or even your entire floor or building.
